What to expect?
๐ซง We will dive deep into the participatory practices of Spain’s capital. We will learn about the status of its digital participation procceses and its hashtag#participatorybudgeting program, but participants will also gain a more comprehensive understanding of its wider participation project, its strengths and its challenges.
After the presentation there will be ample time for questions and answers. This event is part of the international Meet-up series and will be held in English.

During the Meet-up we will address questions like:
- How is the Ayuntamiento de Madrid using the CONSUL platform?
- How is it embedded in the larger participatory project of Madrid?
- What are some of the results of the digital participation, from numbers of people to changing mentalities to government?
- How does the city make sure that people get involved in (digital) participation processes; how is it communicating?
- How is the participatory project of Madrid embedded in the city’s public administration and/or policy-making cycles?
- What have been the principal challenges for organizing successful participation over the past couple of years? How did/does the Ayuntamiento de Madrid deal with these challenges? What are the lessons learned?
